Looking Forward to the Reopening of Art Exhibitions

Reopening of Art Exhibitions

Art is the way one expresses his/her emotions and feelings in a non-generic way. However, art is of no use unless and until the enthusiasts of art can actually see and understand it. That is where the art exhibitions come into play.

An art exhibition is a platform that brings the concealed emotions and feelings of an artist before the people who can then understand and appreciate them. Moreover, art exhibitions have always been a source of earning for talented artists around the world.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19, just as everywhere, museums in the UK have been closed for the last year or so. However, according to the recent developments, museums and art galleries are now finally starting to welcome back the visitors while adhering to the pandemic SOPs.

Which Art Exhibitions to Keep an Eye Out For in the UK?

Some of the exciting art exhibitions in the UK such as V&A Dundee, Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Hertfordshire have already unlocked their doors for the art admirers in the past few weeks while the countdown for the reopening of the others is underway. Below are some of the art exhibitions whose reopening you should definitely look forward to.

The Box, Plymouth

The box is one of the newly-established museums of the UK. Since its inauguration back in September 2020, it has been largely under lockdown. However, the good news is that it is set to reopen on the upcoming 18th of May.

From what I’ve heard, visitors of this museum will be able to learn about the history, art, and culture of the Native Americans, who met the passengers of the English ship, Mayflower and helped them to survive, through the exhibition called Wampum: Stories From the Shells of Native America.

Dulwich Picture Gallery, London

Scheduled to reopen on the 19th of May, 2021, Dulwich Picture Gallery has been completely renovated in the lockdown period into a more bright and spacious public facility. There has also been the addition of new murals and paintings along with an all-new presentation of the gallery’s permanent collection.

Here, until 30th August, you’ll be able to marvel at the Unearthed: Photography’s Roots that depicts the history of photography through the sketches of Mother Nature.Furthermore, the Helen Frankenhalter: Radical Beauty exhibition will be arriving at the gallery on the 15th of September, 2021.

Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), London

The V&A Museum is all ready to welcome art lovers to its premises at the end of this month with two well-known exhibitions: Alice: Curiouser & Curiouser and Epic Iran show.

The former sheds light on the origins, adjustments, and reinventions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland over the period of 157 years while the latter portrays 5,000 years of Iranian art, design, and civilization.

Lady Lever Art Gallery, Liverpool, Liverpool

There is no definite date that has been given for the reopening of this art gallery. All we know is that as the restrictions loosen, it’ll start welcoming visitors. The gallery will be featuring an all-new exhibition – The Last Bohemian: Augustus John until 21st of August, 2021. It will contain over 40 works of the controversial Welsh painter, Augustus John.
