Abstract expressionism has always enticed Karen Usborne, although it was only in her later years that the artist became entirely abstract, creating both modern abstract painting and abstract art prints. In her words she resisted it “while it was in vogue” since she enjoys “being in the minority”. Her art represents her love of contrast and playing with vision. As an artist, Karen Usborne believes that artistic expression transcends our sensory awareness.
